Department of Physics and Geology, University of Perugia

Vertebrate paleontologist at the University of Perugia, Marco is founder and co-director of THOR and of the Italian School of Paleoanthropology. He got trapped into paleontology when he saw the movie Jurassic Park at the age of 10. Since then, he has never abandoned his curiosity about the history of life on Earth as told by fossils, especially mammals. His expertise includes the systematic, phylogenetic, paleobiological, taphonomic, chronological, and paleoenvironmental study of fossil vertebrate assemblages from the Neogene-Quaternary of Mediterranean Europe and East Africa.
