Susanna graduated at the Central Institute for Restoration in Rome in 1986 with a degree in frescoes, mural paintings, paintings on several materials and a specialization on the renovation of stone artifacts. Since 1987, she has been working for the Italian Ministry of Heritage and Culture, and several international authorities. Her specialization concerns the restoration of cultural heritage sites, in particular archeological sites and materials.
